BEEF WITH OYSTER SAUCE

With our straight forward tips and tricks, we’ll show you how to make a tender beef stir fry of restaurant quality.

I love this dish because it doesn’t take long to make and is great for weeknight dinners when you want Chinese food. To finish this dish, you only need to cook the rice ahead of time.

you will need the following ingredients:

1 tbsp groundnut oil
1 garlic clove, crushed
8 button or chestnut mushrooms, quartered
1 onion, diced
1 carrot, thinly sliced
30g (¼ cup) tinned bamboo shoots
340g (12oz) beef fillet, cut into bite-sized slices
1 tbsp light soy sauce
½ tbsp dark soy sauce
3 tbsp oyster sauce
½ tsp salt (or to taste)
1 tbsp cornflour (cornstarch) mixed with 2 tbsp water
½ tsp sugar
½ tsp white pepper
60ml (¼ cup) chicken stock
1 tsp sesame oil

How to make beef with oyster:

Over medium-high heat, first, add the oil to a wok and stir-fry the garlic for 15 seconds. Following the addition of the mushrooms and bamboo shoots, continue frying for a further minute after adding the onion, carrot, and celery. Stir-fry the beef for 2 minutes after adding it.
Also bring to a boil the remaining ingredients, excluding the cornflour mixture and sesame oil. Finally, remove the sauce from the heat and gradually stir in the cornflour mixture to thicken it. Serve after adding the sesame oil.

Note: Finally, served with thick, dark gravy or sauce are tender beef chunks. Watch the sauce permeate through the rice grains and flavor the entire bowl by serving this meal over steaming rice.
